Plot bearing changes during turns on polar axes.
Creates polar plots showing body orientation before and after turns, relative to a reference angle or center. Useful for analyzing turning behavior and orientation preferences.
- Args:
name: Plot name for saving. Auto-generated if None min_angle: Minimum turn amplitude to include. Defaults to 30.0 degrees max_angle: Maximum turn amplitude to include. Defaults to 180.0 degrees ref_angle: Reference angle for normalization. If None, uses center bearing source_ID: Source identifier for bearing calculation. Defaults to ‘Source’ Nplots: Number of subplot panels (2 or 4). Defaults to 4 subfolder: Subfolder for saving plots. Defaults to ‘turn’ **kwargs: Additional arguments passed to AutoPlot
- Returns:
Plot output (figure object or None based on return_fig setting)
- Example:
>>> fig = plot_turn_Dbearing(datasets=[d1, d2], min_angle=20.0, Nplots=4)
- larvaworld.lib.plot.bearing.plot_turn_Dorient2center(**kwargs: Any) Any
Plot turn orientation changes relative to center.
Convenience wrapper for plot_turn_Dbearing() with ref_angle=None, showing orientation changes relative to the arena center during turns.
- Args:
**kwargs: Arguments passed to plot_turn_Dbearing()
- Returns:
Plot output (figure object or None based on return_fig setting)
- Example:
>>> fig = plot_turn_Dorient2center(datasets=[d1, d2])
- larvaworld.lib.plot.bearing.plot_chunk_Dorient2source(source_ID: str, datasets: Sequence[Any], name: str | None = None, subfolder: str = 'bouts', chunk: str = 'stride', Nbins: int = 16, min_dur: float = 0.0, plot_merged: bool = False, **kwargs: Any) Any
Plot bearing to source during behavioral chunks.
Creates polar plots showing body orientation relative to a source (e.g., odor) at the start and stop of behavioral epochs (strides, runs, etc.). Includes statistical correction for mean orientation change.
- Args:
source_ID: Identifier for the source/target object datasets: List of LarvaDataset objects to analyze name: Plot name for saving. Auto-generated if None subfolder: Subfolder for saving plots. Defaults to ‘bouts’ chunk: Behavioral chunk type (‘stride’, ‘run’, etc.). Defaults to ‘stride’ Nbins: Number of bins for circular histogram. Defaults to 16 min_dur: Minimum chunk duration to include. Defaults to 0.0 seconds plot_merged: Whether to include merged dataset. Defaults to False **kwargs: Additional arguments passed to AutoPlot
- Returns:
Plot output (figure object or None based on return_fig setting)
- Example:
>>> fig = plot_chunk_Dorient2source('Food', datasets=[d1, d2], chunk='run')
